Angelique is a Marketing Director who partners with contractors and small businesses to grow the awareness and opportunities for her company Smith Flooring Inc. After spending years working as a stylist in the fashion industry, Angelique traded her heels for a hard hat and joined her family’s commercial construction business.
“I wanted to change the approach of how the construction industry speaks to the public.” Says Angelique. Her combination of real-life storytelling and her love for visuals, both photo and video, connect with people who may or may not work in the construction industry. “I love the transparency that our company has online. Our content tells our customers who we are from a very authentic viewpoint then we tell them how we can provide solutions.”
As Marketing Director at Smith Flooring Inc. her responsibilities include campaign marketing, digital content, brand management, leads and sales. In handling all PR aspects, she enjoys curating events that build relationships but also fulfill Smith Flooring’s commitment to community outreach. Email Angelique Hunter
Karen Grethlein is an attorney with Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, PC. Karen’s practice includes representing and defending a large number of construction professionals, including engineers, architects, professional land surveyors, and contractors in professional liability matters. Karen is licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Jessica is an Assistant Estimator at Builders Incorporated located in Havertown, PA, a General Contractor specializing in commercial construction. She has spent over 10 years in the industry, starting out in residential construction and has a background that ranges from design to estimating to project managing. Jessica has her B.B.A in Family Business and Entrepreneurship from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA and is in the process of obtaining her Project Management Professional Certification. She currently resides in Springfield, Delaware County with her husband and 3 children. In her free time she can be found working on home improvement projects, attending her kids sporting events, coaching girls youth lacrosse, or spending quality time with her family.
Erin O’Brien-Hofmann is the Commercial Paint Instructor. Her duties include educating and provide necessary experience, to current apprentices , on the skills and demands of the painting industry. Anytime not in the classroom is spent on the pavement recruiting men and women alike.
Erin is a union DC 21 , Local Union 2011 commercial painter with 13 years’ experience in the field. She has worked that time with Schnoll Painting. Responsible for projects including the Comcast Building, Convention Center expansion, Franklin Field, CHOP, TCNJ and much more.
Erin Loves her job and has a passion to reach other women in hopes that they too will consider a career in the building trades. Erin resides in Philadelphia, PA with her husband and her four boys. Her hobbies include working on her own home and helping others by painting interiors and exteriors to beautify their spaces. Erin is a member of NAWIC, CLUW and the AFL-CIO. Email Erin Hofmann
Meghan Brolley is an Engineer at Tutor Perini Building Corp assisting with daily construction operations, management of subcontractors, Owner relations, and document control. Her five years of professional experience and family background in the construction industry have helped foster her future aspirations for Project Management.
She graduated from Drexel University in 2017 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minor in Construction Management. During her time at Drexel University she gained exposure to both design and construction through her Co-Ops at Boeing, LF Driscoll, and Exelon; rapidly reaffirming her passion for the construction industry. Utilizing her passion and experience in the industry, she recently completed a two year Management Trainee Program with Tutor Perini Building Corp. The Management Trainee Program afforded her a unique, brief exposure to Estimating/Business Development, Field Supervision, Project Engineering, MEP Supervision, Scheduling, and Safety. PATRICIA JAMES BURSE
Patricia James Burse is the Corporate Business Manager for McKissack & McKissack. McKissack & McKissack is the oldest minority-owned professional design and construction firm in the United States. At the helm, the company is led by Cheryl McKissack Daniel, 5th general of Construction professionals
As the Corporate Business Manager, Patricia is adept in the Certification & Prequalification Process for City and State Agencies and handles this process for the company. In addition, Patricia manages the Annual Reporting, Tax Audits, Contract Administration, Certified Payroll, Lessons Learned Systems and the Office Management for the Philadelphia Region as well as special assignments for Executive Staff. Patricia's experience in business management and telecommunication continue to provide a key component to the company's growth.
Before this role, Patricia functioned as a consultant in the Mayor's Office of Information Services with the City of Philadelphia, as well as a Senior Systems Engineer with Hitachi Data Systems. Patricia holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration, a Certificate in Construction Management from Temple University and OSHA 10 Certification.
Patricia has served as the National Chair for Fundraising and Corporate Sponsorship (2012), Committee Chair for Fundraising and Corporate (Philadelphia Chapter) and Secretary for Philadelphia Chapter (2016) for the National Association of Blacks in Energy. Michele Paxton is the Corporate Safety Director for Binsky Snyder LLC. She has managed the safety and health programs for contractors in Pennsylvania and New Jersey for the past 15 years. The health and safety of our workforce is a true passion and allows her to help people in an arena that most do not get the opportunity to be involved in. Safety and health management goes much deeper than just OSHA regulations and onsite visits. This profession allows for her to connect with the field workers in order to work together to solve issues that have the potential to affect their overall well being. She has the opportunity to see more and more women entering not only the safety profession but entering the trades as well and believes that women bring an incredibly unique perspective to the industry. She has a strong belief that enhancing the success of women in this industry is imperative to its continued growth and through NAWIC we can continue to support, mentor and grow women in construction. Vice President of Administration for Perryman Building and Construction Services, Inc, a third generation construction management firm established in 1961. Ms. Perryman oversees the administrative department including contracts, risk avoidance, human resources, technology, and third generation strategic and corporate planning. Ms. Perryman received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and Executive Leadership Education from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth University in Hanover, NH. Maura is the General Manager of Shoemaker Construction Co. and has more than 18 years of leadership experience working within the male-dominated construction industry. In her role, Maura provides executive management oversight. More importantly, Maura is tasked with ensuring overall project and corporate success as well as customer satisfaction. She facilitates teamwork between all disciplines of the project team and serves as the Owner’s executive level contact with Shoemaker. As General Manager for Shoemaker, Maura also acts in a leadership role as part of The Butz Family of Companies - an enterprise of construction companies which includes Shoemaker along with Alexander Building Construction Co. and Alvin H. Butz, Inc. During her 18 years in the construction industry, Maura has overseen the successful completion of 44 projects valued at more than $1 billion. Using this wealth of experience, she is able to help the project team defy navigate potential challenges that might otherwise delay the Owner’s project or add unnecessary expenses to the budget. Her success managing and overseeing construction projects has earned her the respect of her coworkers - both men and women alike. Away from the work site, Maura is also a regional leader in the pursuit of making the construction industry more accessible. She co-founded Mentoring a Girl in Construction (MAGIC) Philadelphia, a camp associated with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) where she and others are able to introduce school-aged girls to possible careers within the industry.
